I finished my Rainbow Scrap Challenge Quilt from 2020 some time ago and it's been hanging up in my living room for a while.   I forgot to post about it.  This is the first Rainbow Scrap Challenge Quilt that I have done, and it happened during 2020, The year of Covid, but more hard hitting for me, was that in May of 2020, my mother fell and broke her knee and wrist (actually her dog ran into and knocked her over!).   It was a very difficult summer.  I had to move in with mom for 2 months while she was recovering in a wheel chair and later with a walker then a cane.   I vividly remember sewing these blocks together during June and July.  The good news of course, is that my mom made a complete recovery and fortunately, she lives very close to me in the same town, so I could go and see my husband and kids frequently during the time she was recovering.  

I love the quilt now and I am happy that I finished it.  It is a pattern from Melissa Cory.  I think it's called Scraptastic Stars.

 

 

 I thought I would post the 3 quilts that I finished for my nieces and nephew.  Sorry the pictures are not that good.

 It took over a year, but at last I finished Devaney's Graduation Quilt.   I started it when she graduated from High School, and finished it when she graduated from Massage Therapy School.   She was really excited about it and asked for a green border.   There are over 530 circles in the quilt!  It's a pattern from Laundry Basket Quilts.

 For the Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2022, I am only doing two projects.  There are so many choices, but I think the narrowing down to two projects makes it seems like I can accomplish it.

My two projects are the Star and Crown Blocks and a Plus Fun Nine patch quilt from Jo's Country Junction.

I am making 17 nine patch block each month for the new colors.  I made 17 red nine patches and over did it with 20 aqua nine patches.  

 

 I follow the quilt blogger Jo Kramer, and ever since she showed her beautiful quilt Halloween Hoopla (which was published in American Patchwork and Quilting), I have wanted to make it.

I had no Halloween fabric at all.  I'm not a big Halloween fan, but I loved the quilt.  I think it's basically a scrap quilt in Halloween colors.  So I bought jelly rolls and fat quarters  of Halloween fabric (mostly cats and bats) and made the quilt.  It is a beautiful quilt, but I had to use my seam ripper a lot!  I constantly got some of the blocks turned the wrong way.  But in the end, I finished it.  My quilt is a little smaller than the original:

I love the purple, black, green, and gray so much!  The orange and yellow add a nice contrast, but I don't like those colors.  I think I put in a little too much yellow.  I was really focused on using black, so I kinda wish that I had used more purple.  I even  finished it the week before Halloween.  My long arm quilter, Joann was super nice and got it quilted in a week with an awesome spider web design.  My first (and probably only) Halloween Quilt.

 Well the Sumter County Fair was this week.  I entered a quilt, and my 15 year old daughter, Brenna entered a Youth Quilt.  She got Best in Show!  Her quilt is a Jenny Doan pattern of  Carpenter's Star.   Brenna used a Tula Pink layer cake called "Linework" and decided to use a strong background color of Dusty Red.  Boy doesn't the background help the block to pop!  I am so proud of her.

 My last two quilt finishes:

Shibori Stars made with Debbie Maddy's beautiful dyed Japanese Fabric.  It is living on Kieran's bed at the moment:

And my Calico Bee Hive Quilt.  This quilt has been a long time in the works.  At least over 2 years.  Sewing all those little corners was tedious!  But I love the quilt.

I'm still working a few quilts to finish up hopefully soon.  My daughter's Graduation quilt and a King size quilt for my very own bed.

Quilts that I have made for sale.    Recently, my husband asked about selling some of my quilts.   Most quilters know that quilting can get expensive, and one way to pay for the hobby is to sell some quilts.

So here are two quilts that I would like to sell:

The First quilt is A Hundred Patch Scrap Quilt I made it in 2019.   It is 67"x87".  My daughter has used it for her double bed.  It is a used and loved quilt.  No stains.  The backing fabric of the quilt is black with multi colored diamonds. $350

The second quilt is smaller lap sized quilt 57"x74".   It is call a Plus Sign quilt.  The backing on this quilt is a riot of color from scrap blocks that I have made in the past. $150

Christmas Diamond Quilt. 

 I made it with a Christmas layer cake by Kate Spain (Aurora) and a Jenny Doan tutorial with Missouri Star Quilt Company.  It is based on the HST triangle block called a "Depression" block.
