Right now, it's all about gearing up the Sumter County Fair.    I have been super busy during the brief summer break finishing up quilts to enter the Fair.    It's a great motivator for me to use the Fair as a goal to get some quilts done.   The girls are working on their quilts and it feels like October is going to be here too soon!

I've also decided to take the plunge and join a Quilt A-long.   I see them all the time on other quilter's blogs and I thought it might be fun.    Terry from Terry's Treasures is doing a quilt along with the Charming Stars pattern.   I have had my eye on that quilt pattern for ages, so it was a perfect project.

I have lots of charm packs and layer cakes, but I think I am going to use some fat quarters that I bought.  Michael Miller's Norweigian Forest line.   It has some crazy bright color and adorable foxes and squirrels.

We went to New Orleans for my sister, Kirsten's, wedding.   It was a fun but exhausting trip!   I wanted to post a picture of the quilt that I made for her.  It is called "Ice Cream Sandwich Quilt".

I can't show any pictures, but the big project that I have been working on for around 5 months is almost complete.   Took it to the quilter today.  Whew!   Can't wait to see the final result and post a picture.    We will be going to New Orleans in 2 weeks for my sister's wedding, and I'll post pictures after that.

I see that it has been ages since I posted something.  But that doesn't mean that I haven't been sewing!

Here is the quilt that I made for Jeremiah Brennan, my new nephew:

It turned out pretty cute.  It's a 16 patch and framed square quilt

And the really big quilt that I have been working on for months, is called "Hugs and Kisses".   It is really big, but it is hard to tell in the picture.  I made it for a friend.   It was quite fiddly to make.  My husband really loves it, but I am in No Hurry to make it anytime soon!
